Privacy Policy
Last updated 7 October 2026
Name in Ink (“we”) runs this website. This policy explains what we collect when you use the site and buy artwork, and what we do with it. We keep it short because we collect very little.
Using the generator
The name or word you type, the characters you choose and your style settings are processed in your browser to draw the preview. The free preview download is created on your device. None of this is stored on our servers unless you buy artwork.
Usage statistics
To learn which pages and features help people, we count visits and a few actions, such as which names are looked up, free downloads and checkout steps. We use PostHog, hosted in the EU, in cookieless mode: we set no cookies and store nothing on your device for this, and we do not build a profile of you. To tell visits apart for a single day, PostHog derives an anonymous code from your IP address and browser with a secret that is replaced every day, so visits cannot be linked across days.
Asking us to add a name
If your name is not in our library yet and you ask us to add it, we store the name you typed. If you also leave your email, we use it once, to tell you when that name is ready, and for nothing else.
When you buy
- Your order details: the characters, name or word, and style you chose.
- Your email address, collected by Stripe at checkout, so we can send your download link.
- Payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe processes your payment under its own privacy policy.
Service providers
- Stripe: payments.
- Cloudflare R2: storage of your generated files.
- Resend: sending the email with your download link.
- PostHog (EU): cookieless usage statistics.
- Our hosting provider, which runs the website and database.
We do not sell your data and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Your generated files and download page stay available for 1 year after delivery, then the files are deleted automatically. We keep the basic order record (what was bought, when, the amount and your email) for as long as accounting and tax rules require. Server logs, which include IP addresses, are kept briefly for security.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by writing to [email protected]. We will delete everything except records we are legally required to keep.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
