Popular tattoo words

Short words, strong meanings.

One or two characters age best on skin. These are the words people ask for most.

Before your appointment.

Can I bring this to my tattoo artist?

Yes. The tattoo reference pack gives your artist clean artwork, a stencil outline at true size, and notes on the characters, their meaning and pinyin, so nothing gets lost between screen and skin.

Which calligraphy style is best for a tattoo?

Kaishu (regular script) is the safest: clear strokes stay readable as the tattoo heals. Running script adds movement and still reads well. Cursive styles look striking but need a larger size and an artist comfortable with brush work.

How small can a Chinese character tattoo be?

Around 3 cm per character is a practical minimum for most styles. Characters with many strokes need more room, otherwise the lines can merge over time. Your artist will have the final say.

How realistic is the skin preview?

It shows scale, style and placement on a real forearm photo. Your skin tone, the curve of your body, the needle work and healing will all change the final look a little.
